I absolutely loved this book. The author has a clear writing style that is intriguing and easy to read. I felt as though I was receiving advice and direction from a close friend.
Personally, I began meditating about 6 years ago but was never really sure if I was doing it right. I was very inconsistent with my practice. There was a short period of time when I meditated consistently at the advice of a spiritual healer. This lady recommended that I meditate for 20-45 minutes a day. Although I found this practice extremely beneficial, as Ms. Payne describes, it was simply not sustainable because I hadn't worked up to the 20-45 mins properly.
I tried all four meditation practices outlined in the book. Let me tell you, I feel great! I feel inspired to begin a consistent practice again!
All in all, this book is a quick read and is engaging beginning to end. Although I am no stranger to meditation, I feel that this book would be PERFECT for beginners. It certainly was perfect for me.

This is an amazing book! This is a great book that helps reconfirm the simplicity and power of meditation. Reading this book has inspired me to commit to a daily practice and so far I have experienced a subtle and powerful shift in my habits and reactions. I am a long time meditator who is always curious about learning more tips and techniques to help my practice.
Tova's no nonsense approach is great but I got so bogged down with the poor spelling, grammar and structure that I lost the flow and connection.
She has a unique voice and style- stripped of much of the spirituality. I am sure this book with a bit of editing could be a great foundation book on meditation.
This past Sunday I read your meditation book and it made meditation make a lot more sense for me, before I didn't really know what I was doing. The book was really inspiring and I felt good just reading it. I've been practicing daily since then using the breath meditation. So cool and amazing, I achieved a state of no thoughts, just awake and present. It happened when i focused on my breath going up and down, up into my head. Then it was like a black pinpoint, but much bigger than a pinpoint more like a large space in my head. When I opened my eyes, 9 minutes had passed (when I had only planned on meditating for 5 minutes!). It felt so cool during, (I can't really explain it) and so relaxed and clear headed afterwards. I highly recommend this book! Such an easy read and incredibly helpful to me.
