The story started off really strange. But as I continued to read it got much better. There were several twisted moments in this book and that's what made me continue to read. I was glad that Ethan and Haley finally realized what was going on and left the show. Joe and Harvey were wonderful. I really enjoyed reading this book.
This was a phenomenal read! A true love story. The author captured my attention from the beginning with her details of the characters and their activities, especially once they were involved in the show.
I received this book as an ARC, but I purchased it because it was an interesting story. This was a good love story. A little different from what I one normally read but a good story. It started out a little slow, but as you kept reading, it kind of sucked you in. Love Ethan and Halry. Even though I kind of wanted to punch Ethan for being so blind when it came to Erica. But I am glad they got it it together.
I actually enjoyed this book! There was some parts where I wanted to hurt a couple of people! I think that that's what made the book good. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a smooth read. Nothing over the top. Just a sweet read
I was intrigued instantly with Haley and Ethan. They were dealt such a crappy hand with the producers from the show. But in the end their love trumped all and they became what they want above all. A successfully, truly in love couple that had their dreams come true along with the assistance of their camera crew and friendship of Harvey and Joe. Extraordinary Read!
What a great book! I enjoyed entering the world of reality television in book form. The story of Haley and Ethan entering into an arranged marriage for money and a tv show could be on tv right now. The manipulations by the shows staff to boost ratings and drive a wedge between the couple could cost them the prize money. Dive into this delicious book to see how the couple fare after attempts to prevent them from falling in love are inserted into the shows dialogue.
The beginning of the book was slightly disappointing, but that was mainly because of how Ethan was being portrayed as weak & extremely gullible. I'm happy to say that he overcame that as the book goes along, & the author used that initial angle to spin his character completely around in a positive/inspiring way. I'm glad I continued to read the rest of the book, because it was truly a refreshing change to the same or similar storylines being recycled in countless other romance novels. I enjoyed this book, its characters, the journey the characters had to take, & the oh so enjoyable ending. Great read/escape!
It was refreshing to read an IR story with a different plotline, interesting and likable characters, and not have to wade through a myriad of typographical and grammatical errors. This story reminds me of a book by author JJ Murray, another of my favorite IR authors.
I like what this author did with her characters. Ms Howard took the time to develop her characters, develop the attraction between the couple, and have them prevail as a couple and as individuals against "Hollywood" and other conniving people out for ratings, money, or success. The Hollow aspect was like a Jackie Collins novel.
This was a good read and I would recommend it not just to IR readers, but to any modern romance reader who wants a break from monotonous plotlines and likes everyday characters. Good job.
